Setra Skinnskatteberg
Scope of delivery: Green sorting lines with timber buffers and dual sticker stackers
Year of delivery: Two phases, 2023 and 2024
Setra Skinnskatteberg transitioned from processing large-diameter logs to small-diameter logs, requiring major investments to adapt the sawmill to the new production setup. The investment resulted in very high production rates, with the timber handling system capable of processing more than 200 pieces per minute on each line.
The investment enabled Setra Skinnskatteberg to almost double its production capacity to 250,000 m³ per year.
Renholmen supplied the timber handling equipment downstream of the saw. The delivery mainly included timber receiving from the saw, separate timber buffers for sideboards and centre boards, dual sticker stackers with associated drying sticker and forklift sticker infeed systems, as well as package outfeed.
By investing in dual timber buffers and sticker stackers, Setra can utilise the full capacity of the new saw without the downstream timber handling becoming a bottleneck.
